Monaco Chinese Festival

 
 

The “Monaco Chinese Festival – China Today” is scheduled to take place for the first time in Monaco. The festival will be held in the Principality from 13 to 20 February 2014. An event organised by the government of the Principality and the Monaco Town Hall in collaboration with the Association Monaco Chine and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

Chinese Gastronomy Week will take place at the Café de Paris. Four great chefs, Mr Yu Lin LUO and Mr Song Tao ZHU from the Shanghai Classical Hotel and Mr Feng WANG and Ms Shun Li Xi’an MA from Tourist Company, will be present from 14 to 20 February to familiarise us with the flavours of Chinese cuisine. Different specialities will be proposed for lunch and dinner, in collaboration with the Executive Chef of the Café de Paris Jean Claude Brugel and his team.

For this grand premiere, many shows and exhibitions honouring Chinese culture have been organised.

 

Starting Thursday 13 February at 20.00, you can attend various shows with singing, dancing, the Beijing Opera, the Kunqu Opera, martial arts, folklore and more.

 

From 14 to 20 FebruaryDiscover the Lantern Festival and the Chinese Village on Quai Albert 1er, where you can find a wide variety of Chinese artisan products (lanterns, parasols, kites, paper objects, paint in glass jars, traditional calligraphy etc.).

 

For those who are passionate about photography, a photo exhibition entitled “China Today” will take place at the Galerie du Quai Antoine 1er, showing 80 to 100 photos taken by winners of the “China International Art Photographers” contest.

 

Lantern Exhibition at the Casino and the Café de Paris. 

Don’t miss the fabulous Lantern Exhibition in the Café de Paris Hall and in the sumptuous Casino Atrium. Unique traditional lanterns set a wonderful, other-worldly mood. 

 

A cultural show with traditional Chinese music, song and dance will take place Saturday 15 February at 20.00 and Sunday 16 February at 15.00, at the Espace Léo Ferré.

 

Finally, Mr Bellassen, Inspector General of Chinese at the French Ministry of Education, will be giving a conference on the theme “The art and system of Chinese cooking” at the Auditorium du Lycée Technique, Wednesday 19 February at 16.00.

 

It will be a unique occasion to discover the wonderful flavours and colours of Chinese culture.
